With 13,600 students and approximately 840 members of the faculty and staff, American University’s changes will have a major impact on healthier living now and for generations to come. Over three years, American University will make changes such as providing healthier food and beverage options in dining venues, creating opportunities for physical activity and offering wellness programming on campus. On February 26, 2015, American University teamed up with PHA to meet 23 guidelines, all with an eye toward shaping good habits for our future leaders and parents. Each year, thousands of people, forced to flee violence and persecution, are welcomed by the people of the United States into the safety and freedom of America. But college and university students, faculty and staff now find themselves in healthier environments thanks to the work being done by PHA partners like American University.
